[A part of him wants to protest - he'd like to run and find everyone else, just to make sure they're all okay - but even as the thought enters his mind he feels a fresh wave of exhaustion, and his legs won't cooperate. Reluctantly (yet with some relief) he lets go and lies back, nodding sleepily.]
You are quite welcome, my son. [She whispers softly.
And once he's out, she pecks his forehead and makes sure that he's properly tucked in before heading on her way. Until it's time to bring him another meal!]

Um... usually just about a month from where it starts. So I guess we're halfway through...?
[It feels as if it's been so much longer, but now that his relic's working, he's seen the calendar. He knows how long he was out there.]
Just a weekend sure would've been nice.

[She sighs. And smiles after him.]
Maybe we can do our own camping trip with survival exercises sometime. ...But not anytime soon!! Let's give it a few months maybe.

Yeah... I'd really like that, actually! I've never gone camping before. I used to hear about it, though. We should do it.

[She pumps a fist!]
After having some distance from, from all of this, I will take you on the mother-son camping trip to define all all camping trips!!
no subject
Really? You promise?
[HE WANTS THIS SO BAD. Camping with Mom!! It could be so fun! (Please let them have fun. He needs it.)]

[How can she cement this promise even more? Oh, she's got it! She dramatically thrusts out her right pinky finger towards him.]
I solemnly swear upon this pinky... that we shall have the camping trip of a lifetime!

ALMOST BURSTS INTO TEARS AGAIN-
Okay, no. But he does blink a whole bunch as he hooks his pinky around hers. It's a reminder that he really needs to find Hunter soon, too.]
Yeah, yeah! I can't wait.

[She says softly, her smile warming as their pinkies link. She places her other hand over his and gently pats it.]
Now get some more rest, my son. We have plenty of time to ponder that incredible trip of a lifetime!
no subject
Okay... just for a little while. Thanks, Mom...
[He'll be out like a light pretty quickly.]
